Eric, Keeper & I started this music video almost a year ago exactly... this is home footage Keeper shot years and years ago and they thought it was perfect for their 1st official music video.

I love this song and I can't get enough of the people in this video... the way they all dance is just... priceless :)

Keeper says: "at first i was like 'woah.. saturation!' But then it feels like a weird glazy claustrophobic half-awake memory.. i love it and i want it played at my funeral!"

Who doesn't love free music?

A few weeks ago, I mentioned Eric was waiting for his new CDs to arrive, and how long I had watched Eric work on this album. Well, last night I went over to Eric's place to help him set up some things for getting his new album, "as an ex-anorexic's six sicks exit,..." out there and more accessible to people.

I must say, I love that the back of the CD says "don't care if you burn/rip/share". So we made a zip' file that has all 10 songs, the album artwork and the liner notes, you can download that here, if you'd like to pass the link on, just copy & paste this: http://urltea.com/2ep0

If you'd like to buy an actual CD, maybe as a gift for someone, hint hint :) you can do through their myspace page, and really you can pay whatever you'd like for it.

We also put some finishing touches on a rather-hilarious music video for Jackie O, the 4th song on the album. And that will be up as soon as possible.

I'd like to get their songs indexed by search engines, so I'm going to link to them individually - hopefully they'll show up Project Playlist in the next few days (again, if you'd like all these songs, it will be much faster for you to just download the zip file above):
01) them pleasures of the flesh 4:49

02) anomie's the enemy 4:46

03) what? 4:28

04) jackie o 2:42

05) a frozen lake 4:51

06) bad thing 2:46

07) this is far from a belle epoque 4:01

08) eyes, foreign eyes 4:20

09) the lonliness of the short distance walker 4:18

10) i'll stop swimming when i drown 8:52
Hope you enjoy the CD :) Here's to indie music!

long time no see

Long time readers of this site (aka: Seth), will remember that when we first moved from Ypsi to LA, there were four of us. The first one to go, rather abruptly, was Chuck. Chuck announced to the three of us, through a post on this site, that he was leaving California and going back to Michigan.

What he didn't mention was he planned to take Caliblog with him, even though we were the ones paying for it. Long story short, the shit hit the fan when Chuck left, things got ugly both on and behind Caliblog, and we lost a good number of readers because of it.

Well... none of us have heard a single word from Chuck since he left - he disappeared for a while, then resurfaced with his own blog, which he soon quit and deleted. Then about three years went by, and I couldn't find anyone who knew anything about what happened to him. Not even his hero: Mark Maynard.

So the other day, with the help of a person who might not want to be named, I found Chuck, or "Charles" on MySpace.

His profile was set to private, and he hadn't logged in since August, I tried to add him as a contact, it asked me to enter his last name for security reasons and "Manley" didn't work, neither did a few dozen other names I could see Chuck using. So, instead I sent a message that read:
Well, well... look who I found on myspace... I see apparently your last name isn't "Manley" anymore, at least according to myspace... you've really went into hiding.

Why is it you want to be so hard to find? What don't you want people to see?
And the next day... he had erased his entire account. Just like that... what a strange, strange individual.

The Winnies :)

I wanted to write this post sooner, but it seems like everything has been moving so fast since last weekend, I think I was barely home at all in the last 6 days. But I'm so, so glad I got to go to the Winnies this year - it was a blast, it was fantastic to see everyone.

I'm a little sad I had to end the night early :) but... uhm, well let's just say Amanda was running around all day getting things ready for the event and kinda forgot to eat anything, and then there was an open bar at the party. She wasn't feeling so well that night... or most of the next day.

Mike Hedge posted a great photo-video on Vimeo, but I highly, highly recommend following this link to watch the same video on Vimeo's page... because the HD option will kick in, and these pictures look much, much awesomer in HD. That's right: "awesomer".

Lan Bui also put together a photo-video of the night - he was also one of the people responsible for putting on the Winnies, along with Bonny Pierzina (his adorable wife), Vu (his brother), and Irina Slutsky (click here to watch a hilarious video of Irina and I watching... something no one should ever watch).

It was a great weekend - and I know the organizers put a lot of time and energy into making it happen. So I just want to say "thanks", it was a night I won't forget!
