Hey you, this is caliblog, all of this is based on a true story... all of this is our lives my life in a nutshell.

Ok.. so this is harder than it seems. At least for me. I went back and read The Fem Geek's post and there are only supposed to be 6 weird habits/things... but since Mike has "plenty of these" I guess he decided to go for 7. I'll go back to 6 since I'm lazy and having a hard time thinking of anything.

So here it is:

1- I used to bite my nails like crazy. For my whole life. Everyday. I never had long nails. Just little stubs. And then one day when I was 23 I just stopped. Out of the blue. Cold turkey. Never did it again.
2- I like to sit Indian style when at my desk or computer. I have bad circulation in my legs and they always go numb. It really hurts. But I do it anyways. Always.
3- I need to wake up slowly. Sometimes I hit snooze for a half hour. I have to lay in bed awake for at least 5 minutes before I can get up.
4- My corner eyelashes tend to stick together and it feels weird. Sometimes when I'm talking to someone and I feel it happening I'll open my eyes really wide to separate them but I don't even realize I'm doing it.
5- I make lists. I'm a crazy list maker. I have a list for everything. I must make about 5 a day. Sometimes I never look at them again. Others hang around for weeks while I slowly scratch the items off one by one. Often times items will carry over form one list to the next. I have tons of little notebooks full of lists.
6- When checking out at the grocery store I prefer to arrange items on the belt with like things.. produce together.. cereal together.. cans together.. etc. I think this is normal. But Mike thinks not.

As for music. I'm in the same boat as Mike. My head would explode if I had to name my 7 favorite songs. So... this is my mix of the week:

1- Fidelity by Regina Spektor
2- The start of Something by Voxtrot
3- In Your Eyes (acoustic) by Ben Harper
4- Don't Stop Believin' by Journey
5- Live by the Water by Papas Fritas
6- Last Day of Our Acquaintance by Sinead O'Connor
7- 3 Little Birds by Bob Marley

Tag! I'm it.

posted on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 by

I've been blog-tagged by Tiffiany, aka the Fem Geek - in her post she mentions she was tagged by two seperate people for two seperate topics. The first being 7 of her favorite songs, and another for 7 strange habits/things. So I'm actually not sure if I just have to do the songs, or both, but just to be safe I'll go all out.

I'm going to start with easy list first - 7 strange habits/things (I have plenty of these):

1) I have a tendency to leave my iPod headphones in my ears even when I'm not listening to anything... and not just for a few minutes, I'm talking a few hours.
2) I take freakishly long showers - and often fall asleep in the bathtub for at least an hour. I like to think in there.
3) I sleep very well in tight spaces. I had a bunkbed growing up and prefered to sleep under the bed, tucked behind all the tubs for my toys.
4) TV shows that have laugh tracks really, really get on my nerves... I have to really like the show to get over it. It's like nails on a chalk-board.
5) I'm (sadly) a very picky eater. I don't like mushrooms, onions, guacamole... actually, it might just be easier to list things I *do* like.
6) This is tricky to explain. When I'm driving on the highway, and there is a road that goes over the highway... if there is a car (or truck) on it, I like to see how close we'd come to eachother if suddenly the 3rd dimension colapsed and we exsisted on the same level... the closer, the better. Does that make any sense? No.
7) I love videoblogging... but that's not really all that strange, is it?

Doing a list of my top 7 songs just isn't going to happen, I listen to way too much music. But I can do a kind of 7 favorite songs of this week. So it's more of a mix tape then a top 7 list. Otherwise my head is going to explode.

Side A:

1) 'Short Distance Walkers' by A Faulty Chromosome
2) 'Patterns' by Simon & Garfunkel
3) 'Ask Me About Pittsburgh' by The Asteroid No.4
4) 'Shortwave' by Monster Movie
5) 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd
6) 'The Start of Something' by Voxtrot
7) 'Meo Blodnasir' by Sigur Ros

Side B:

1) 'The First of the Gang to Die' by Morrissey
2) 'Let's Get Out of This Country' by Camera Obscura
3) 'Lonley Love' by The Gray Kid
4) 'Street Fighting Man' by Rod Stewart
5) 'George Romero' by the Sprites
6) 'Theives in the Temple' by Prince
7) 'Do What You Wanna Do' by the Acid House Kings

So now the fun part - who's next? Amanda, Justin, Angela, Brian, my Mom, Eric and Mandy.

Also, if you can only handle one of the 7 list, go with the music one. Unless you have some majorly strange habits to share.

My Interviews with AFC & Their Fans

posted on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 by

A few weeks ago a bunch of us went to Mr. T's Bowl to watch our friends, A Faulty Chromosome play. Justin had me do the camera-man thing while he talked to AFC and some of their loving fans. I thought this turned out really fun, so I figured I'd spread the love.

Also, if you want to see one of the funniest conversations caught on tape, check this out. Leave your comments on Justin's blog, I'm not trying to steal his thunder. I'd like to remain on his good side, I've seen him punch a baby in the face for kicks. Okay, not really, that was ammusing for me write.

The idea of Project Pedal came about, thanks to Amanda, almost exactly four years ago - and for the last three years, I've been pouring myself into it with my fair share of difficulties along the way.

But thanks to the encouragement of close friends, family and the readers/viewers of this site - I've always picked myself up and kept trying when things dead-ended with Pedal.

I can't imagine where I would be without this site and without everything it has directly been instrumental in sending my way. My amazing crew, the Black Sheep... the professional advice and support of Matt... the much needed and much appreciated relationships with total strangers who've stumbled onto this site in there own ways.

I've learned so much in the last three years, and if I had any advice to pass on to people reading - it would be, whatever your passion or personal project may be, don't go it alone. Start a blog, and be as transparent and inclusive as possible.

I'm excited about these last two months and the two that will follow - I can't wait for the trip to come. I'm nervous. I'm excited. "Breath in pink, exhale blue". There's a lot of details to get into place - but... this is it, two months left. Here we go.

Pedal & the Flux Film Festival

posted on Tuesday, April 03, 2007 by

As I mentioned recently on Project Pedal's blog - I submitted 'Episode One: From the Beginning' to the 2007 Flux iPod Film Festival.

I just found out that it was 1 of the 5 videos selected for their "Kitchen Sink" category (the category for everything else that's not a feature length or a short film)!

What happens now? A combination of judged and voters (anyone) help decide which video is chosen.

Your help (and time) would mean very much to me! All you'd have to do is make a free account here (I promise, it's easy and quick) and then rate 'Episode One' here.

Pedal & the Flux Film Festival

Thanks so much!! Feel free to copy & paste this into emails, myspace bulletins, etc. I’ll keep everyone posted as to final results.

Digg it here.

Pedal on JETSET

First off, I am super, super excited to be on this week's JETSET show! Which, I should mention, just signed a licensing and distribution deal with Next New Networks, which is great news for the shows creators: Steve and Zadi. Congrats!

Secondly, I promise that Episode 4 is on it's way very, very soon - it's a bit more elaborate than the first three, and I got a very late start on it. Which is another story for another time.

So in the meantime - please check out JETSET, they did a really great job with the episode (also, if you haven't already, watch their New Orleans episode from last week, it's fantastic.) Enjoy!

How do *you* peel an orange?

posted on Monday, April 02, 2007 by

Amanda and I rode up with Lan and Bonny last weekend to beautiful Ojai for Super Happy Vlog House (Thanks to Markus and Alicia for being terrific host). It was actually a really, really great two days - a much needed get-away. Although Lan and I might have gotten our selfs into a bit of trouble... but that will have to wait till later.

All this week Amanda and I will be on Noodlescar Daily!! Which was so much to film. Thanks Lan & Bonny!!
