Monday I went and took my test at the DMV and passed! (the second time) Woo-hoo! So now I have my very own California drivers license. And two cool Cali license plates for my car. Except I haven't figured out how I'm going to get the one on the front of my car yet. Mike and I spent all day driving around getting the oil changed, looking for a smog check place, and then trying to find the DMV in Burbank that Chuck gave me really bad directions to. But we made it... and got it all done, eventually. Thankfully, my car passed the smog check with flying colors!

Mike's brother, Nick, is visiting this week. He flew out last Friday and is staying until Tomorrow. The night of Chuck's birthday we were all sitting around, hangin' out, and Mike and Nick were chatting on line with their video cameras hooked up so they could see each other and we all said, in our 1/2 drunken-ness, "Hey Nick, when are you going to come and visit? You should come tomorrow!". And the next day he had tickets. Funny how those things work out. Unfortunately because it was such short notice, Mike and I have had to work a lot while Nick has been here. Although, Mike was able to sneak his way out of a couple shifts. I know Mike has really enjoyed Nick being here.
On Sunday Mike, Nick and I had brunch with our friend Zack, in Santa Monica, at this really cool restaurant right on the beach. The tables are actually in the sand! You can take your shoes off and bury your feet, if you want. It was so cool... and yummy food, too! After we ate, the four of us drove up the coast to a beach in Malibu that a friend at work told me about that has really cool caves. It was so much fun. The waves were huge and knocking us over all the time but we still had a blast! We were laughing all day. After investigating the caves we drove up a bit further to our usual spot we call "the rocks" and just sat and watched the waves crash onto the rocks and the dolphins swim by. It was great. We were so tired by the time we got home, we all fell asleep in the living room at 8 pm. Nick took his video and digital cameras, so I'm sure Mike will be posting some fun stuff soon.
My mom's birthday was on Monday so I have to give her a shout-out (even though she's probably not reading this). Anyhow, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA!!!! You know I love ya more than bubble baths, and chocolate, and massages! (damn, that's a lot!) She turned 45, which means I'll be 25 very, very soon. AHHH!!! Too old, too old! She says she'd be willing to trade with me though. I think I'd rather just be 5. My mom is so sweet and funny. She sent me an email yesterday from her office that ended something like this...
"Anyway, we went to the Tiger Ball game with Chris and Ron last night, and they lost, but it was fun. We got home way late so I missed my beauty sleep. I've worked hard today, so I'm gonna blow this pop stand now. Love you much, your Mama"
She cracks my ass up!!!
Billy had tickets to go see a screening of a new movie tonight, that will be coming out soon, staring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. He was going to take Nick out and show him a good time but at the last minute it got canceled. So Nick didn't get to check out his first Hollywood screening... Bummer... That would have been cool.
By the way... Nick rocks at the guitar! The other night he was just playing random stuff as Mike sat at the computer and I lay on the couch. It was so relaxing listening to him. I wanted to go to sleep. He is awesome! I'm trying to get him to learn this John Mayer song I've always thought had cool guitar music. He's says it's pretty hard, but it's nice that he's trying anyway. He's a sweetie.
Well, that's all for now. Peace.
